SPCA

The SPCA is the only charity with legal powers to help animals in need. They have helped 40,000 animals. They have desexed and microchipped 29,600 animals. Desexed means that something from their body has been removed. Microchipped is when there is a chip that is going in there body and it has there owner details. SPCA helps protect over 40,000 animals in New Zealand every year. If you are thinking of helping the SPCA,  listed below are some things that you can do to help.

  1. Kia ora Molly, this is Kieryn from the Summer Learning Journey.
Well done on sharing some of the amazing things that the SPCA does.
I didn’t know that the SPCA helps over 40,000 lives each year! That is so many animals that have been sick or injured and were helped by such an amazing organisation.
The SPCA needs the public’s help to keep on supporting all of the sick and injured animals, so it was great of you to include the different ways people can help out.
You mentioned that the SPCA has desexed and microchipped 29,600 animas. Microchips were an awesome invention that help reunite so many lost pets with their families everyday.
My kitten has a microchip, and it makes me feel safe knowing that if he ever went missing we would be able to find him.
When I lived in Australia, I had to call the SPCA (or in Australia they call it the RSPCA) to help a kangaroo which had been attacked by a dog. The kangaroo was not in very good shape, and I watched over him until the SPCA arrived to help him out.
I was extremely thankful for everything the SPCA did to help out the injured kangaroo, and was so relieved when they were able to nurture him back to full health.
Have you ever adopted an animal from the SPCA? If so, what kind of animal?
Thank you for creating such an amazing blog post. I look forward to seeing more content from you!
    Nga mihi
