Learning Pit!

The learning pit is when you are scared or worried and you know that you can not do it. What you should do is have a go and just jump in and have go at it. Now you are in the learning pit. I will tell you to out of it. What you do is that you have to think really hard about what you need to do and when you make a mistake you will be one step closer to getting out. Just think that your brain is like a light but it has no energy and every time you make a mistake your brain gets more and more energy to light up. Now you should be out of the learning pit.

The Earth Needs To Be Clean! 

This week  Mr Andrews came to tell us how they help the Earth. Mr Andrews job is to work at a cafe that is in a place where we watch the cricket, rugby and stuff like that. At the cafe they used to sell those plastic cups that you can only use 1 time, but then they looked out on the fields and they saw all those plastic cups on the ground. ( those cups tack 500 years to go in the ground ) So they decided to make a cup that you could could reuse at least 1000 times.  When they are at the end of there lives, they will melt them and turn them into Coffee cup holders.  If the people want straws, they are made from a plant but I forgot what It was called. How do you help the involvement? 

LEGO LEGO AND MORE LEGO

On August the 5th there was a lady called Rachel. She brung Lego. There were three challenges. One car race. Two build a bridge. Three you had to build the tallest tower. First My class went to car racing. The rules were that you had 2 cars and chose the best one. We had to get into buddy's I chose Santara. The car had to go down a rap. there were 2 types of Lego. One was Technic and the other one was just normal Lego. first me and Santana made a Technic one first. We had a problem it was to heavy we it went down the rap it went fast but when it went Down on the ground it just started to stop. What we did to fix it was that we took something of it. When we tried it again it went a lot farther. Next we had to make a Bridge the bridge had to hold books and pencil case. We had to get into pairs again I chose Santara me an her failed. The Next activity was... You had to build the tallest tower. You had 45 mins we came 2 to last. But I enjoyed it. I had so much FUN!

PBL FUN Term 1 and 2

In term 1 our PBL was based on kindness. We watched the Video Wonder. It is about a kid name Auggie that did not look so ordinary but then he realized that nobody looked ordinary and that we are all special. In term 2 we were focusing on climate change. what we had to do was get into a groups first I got My group was Dakota Elsha And Me what decided to do was make beeswax wraps. Then we found out that other group was making beeswax wraps too so we joined 
groups. Then when we ran out  of beeswax  we came up with the idea of handkerchiefs. On the day we sold them 50c , $1.00 , $1.50 and $2.00.

Winter Sports

Winter Sports
At our school we play winter sport. There are 4 choices of sport. You can pick hokey, netball, tackle ruby and soccer. I chose netball. There is an A, B and C team. I got into the A team.    
Over the winter sport season we have won all of our games and have lost none. We have not tied ether. Our team have faced meany challenges. There were some that were hard and some easy. I enjoy playing netball because you get to run around and I like it because I think it is really fun. I like all the shoot positions. There are C D and A. A is Attack witch means you can shot and you can only go in the first two thirds. C ,means Center  you can go every were but the semi circles. D means Defense you can go in the opposite 2 thirds to A. I like all of them. D used to be the hardest position but then once I was playing C most of the time then I got more intercepts and I started to get better at D.  My fitness level out of 10 is probably 10.

Maths! Maths and more Maths!

Maths.

I really enjoy Maths. We have bean doing Maths boards. Here is a  photo of my Maths board.

Through the year I have become more confident with my Maths. My Dad taught me how to do decimal points. I have been through all my teachers and right now I am with Miss Parker. I like the Maths follow up. Last year the children in year 5 that are now year 6 said Maths was really hard. I do not think It is hard. I think Maths is really easy. But some times it can get a little bit hard. I use to hate Maths but now I enjoy it. When I was in year 2 I found it really hard. I did not want to learn it. Over the year I got more stronger with Maths and now I think I am really good at it. I think I became good at Maths by putting my mind to it and trying new things.

If you think you are no good at anything just have a go and put your mind to it!

INNOVATION

This term for our PBL were are learning about INNOVATION. We are doing this because we want some background knowledge about INNOVATION.

What is INNOVATION?
INNOVATION is something you create. It could be bad it could be good. For example a phone is a INNOVATION, because once you could not talk on one you had to talk in person.

OUR LEARNING.
We have been to different classes and we have been making boat, cars and surveillance planes.
For the boats all we could use was tin foil tape paper and plastic cups. We put them in water and who's  ever's boat could hold the marbles most would win. My team came 3. Our boat held 33 Marbles.
